My current role is a long term training and development program which increases my experience and responsibility over time, which in turn gives me an opportunity to immerse myself in all areas of the Business and hopefully progress when the time is right. I have been very lucky that the Company has arranged for me to study for an SVQ Level 3 qualification in Poultry Production which is a mixture of study and work based learning. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working for Hook2Sisters and am very excited for what the future holds.

While studying a degree in Agriculture, specialising in Livestock Production at Hartpury University, P.D. Hook gave me the opportunity to do a placement on rearing and breeding farms, as well as in Cote hatchery, allowing me to gain valuable experience in the industry. After completing my degree, I expressed interest in working in a hatchery nearer home and was offered a position at Gunness Hatchery. I was later given the role of Trainee Hatchery Manager and, when a position became available, I was promoted to Assistant Hatchery Manager at 21 years old, only a year after starting at Gunness. The company has been supportive and helped me to achieve my goals in the industry.
